Transcending Reality in African Theatre

Heather J. Denyer is assistant professor in theatre and dance at California State University-Fullerton. She holds a PhD in theatre and performance from The Graduate Center, CUNY and an MFA in dramaturgy from Columbia University. As a translator, she focuses on French-language plays from West Africa. She has articles and book chapters on West African theatre and puppetry in Puppetry International, Routledge Companion to Theatre and Politics and Women and Puppetry: Critical and Historical Investigations.
