Abstract
In this short note I discuss a few issues raised by Petri Luomanen in his paper. To begin with, I make some critical comments on the role of modeling in the social sciences and the humanities in general. I then explore Stark's work in sociology of religion, examining some of the points made by Luomanen. Finally, I expand Luomanen's analysis with the example of game-theoretic models of religion phenomena.
