Revealing Concealment: The Strange Case of the MoMA Roof Garden

Jacky Bowring is a senior lecturer in the Landscape Architecture Group, Lincoln University, New Zealand. Particular research interests are design theory and critique. She recently received an Honorable Mention for her Moison Metaphysique in the Japan Architect "House of Multiple Dimensions" competition, judged by Steven Holl, and will present her paper "To Make the Stone[s] Stony: Defamiliarization and Andy Goldsworthy's Garden of Stones" at this year's Dumbarton Oaks Symposium on Existence and Experience in Contemporary Gardens.
