The Rwanda Project

Alfredo Jaar was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1956 and trained there as an architect and filmmaker. Since moving to New York City in 1982, Jaar has emerged as one of the most prominent and controversial artists on the international scene. He has exhibited in important one-person and group exhibitions throughout the world that include Documenta and Bienalles in Sidney, Venice, Paris, Johannesburg, Sao Paolo, and Istanbul, as well as many of the world's most prestigious museums.
