STEPHEN PROSKI is a blind/disabled artist, educator, writer, and advocate. Their work addresses personal experiences of blindness and takes the form of painting, installation, text, and objects. Proski uses their artwork to focus in on the complexities of blind culture, its relationship to vision and language, and the embedded hierarchical structures that prioritize the ocularcentric. They received a bachelor's degree in painting and creative writing from the Kansas City Art Institute and a master's degree in painting from Boston University. Their work has been shown in various venues in Boston, Chicago, and New York.
