Anchored in the North American context, his current research broadly concerns cross-disciplinary sonic experimentalism of the fifties, sixties, and seventies, and the technologies and media on which this work was premised.

SARAH RIFKY is a curator and theorist of modern and contemporary art and a PhD candidate in History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture and Art and the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at MIT. Her current research is focused on the notional emergence of ≪cultural infrastructure≫ in Egypt during the fifties and sixties. She is interested in the work of institutions, artists, and art in Global Modernism.
