Wendy A. Woloson is associate professor of history at Rutgers University-Camden where she teaches courses on the history of American consumer culture, popular culture, and the cultural history of capitalism. She is co-editor of Capitalism by Gaslight: Illuminating the Economy of 19th-Century America (2015) and the author of In Hock: Pawning in America from Independence through the Great Depression (2009)
