Data for Japan are from Hosono and Takizawa (2013). TFPR is calculated from equation (5) and then scaled by the geometric mean of TFPR across all firms in an industry s. Industries are weighted by value-added shares. GDP per capita is the annual average over each sample period in constant 2005 US dollars.
