Notes. Each fitness score in this table is an average of the final generation for a given layer (an average of 12 fitness values). The difference between the two tables is that here we focus on the final generation, whereas the preceding table examined the average fitness over all the generations. The similar correlation values in Table 9 (0.767) and Table 10 (0.765) indicate that the correlations between the two forms of external fitness (comparison with past winners and comparison with random seeds) are robust.
